New National Survey Seeks to Understand LGBTQ+ Recovery Needs Better

At Dolan Research International, we’re dedicated to strengthening the systems that support recovery. That work starts with listening—and learning—from the people those systems are designed to serve.

That’s why we’re proud to support the launch of the LGBTQ+ Voices: National Recovery Needs Assessment, a first-of-its-kind national survey focused on identifying the unique needs, challenges, and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals in or seeking recovery.

This project was developed by Inclusive Recovery Athens, Acceptance Recovery Center, and the Global Trans Equity Project (GTEP) and is supported by a wide range of national partners, including:

The survey gathers clear, actionable data to inform the development of services and programs that better reflect the realities and needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in recovery.

Understanding specific barriers and gaps is critical to delivering better outcomes, whether it's recovery support, mental health care, or navigating existing systems and services. This survey is for people to share their lived experiences—confidentially and directly—in a way that will help shape tools, training, and resources moving forward.

If you identify as LGBTQ+ and have experience with recovery or are currently seeking recovery, we invite you to participate in this important effort:

We also encourage our colleagues, partners, and providers to help share this effort widely. The more responses we receive, the more effective and informed our collective work can be.

Thank you for supporting a more substantial, responsive recovery landscape!
